ONPAGE OPTIMIZATION:

  • Use your main keyword once or twice in your title tag, or just once with an additional close keyword variation.
  •  Use your keyword once again in the H1 header at the top of your page. This is to help make sure the search engines know what you’re content is about. Also use H2 and H3 tags. But don’t make them spammy. Include the keyword within a phrase. Also use other variations of your keyword within the content rather than using the same phrases over and over again.
  •    Make one of the keywords bolded.
  • Add it to one of the pictures on the page in the alt attribute tag.
  • Place the keyword once or twice in the meta description tag. This is the description the search engines use under your URL to describe your site to the searcher and is clearly visible in the search results.
  • Don’t place a link to another page with the anchor text you are trying to rank for.
  • Make sure your page load speed is quick. Google include page load speeds in their ranking algorithm so it’s something you must look at.
  • Link to trusted sites such as Wikipedia when referencing in your content. But do not use the anchor text you’re trying to rank for. This shows the search engines that you’re not a spammy site and you’re willing to let people know about other site’s in your niche.
  • Name your pictures with keyword rich ALT tags. This is such a easy thing to do especially for those using Wordpress.
  • Link to inner pages of your website. This allows spiders to crawl your site better but it also allows users to find other pieces of content which reduce bounce rate and keeps them on site for a longer period of time.
